The Hamptons with Dogs: A Pet-Friendly Guide

A beach vacation is better with the whole family — including the four-legged members. Both of our oceanfront homes welcome well-behaved dogs, so your pup can chase the surf right alongside you.

Here's what to know before you bring your dog to Westhampton Beach.

Our pet policy

We welcome small dogs up to about 20 pounds, with a limit of two pets per stay and a per-pet fee. Please request a pet-friendly booking in advance so we can confirm everything ahead of your arrival.

Dogs on the beach

The barrier-island beach off Dune Road is a wonderful place to walk a dog, especially in the quieter morning and evening hours. Seasonal rules about dogs on the beach do apply during summer, so keep your dog leashed where required, always clean up, and give nesting shorebirds a wide berth.

Beyond the beach

Nearby preserves like the Quogue Wildlife Refuge offer leashed-dog-friendly trails, and the village has plenty of patios where a calm dog is a welcome guest. Pack a towel for sandy paws — the homes have outdoor showers to rinse off before heading inside.

Common questions

Are dogs allowed at the rentals?

Yes — we welcome small dogs up to about 20 lbs, with a maximum of two pets per stay and a per-pet fee. Please arrange pet-friendly bookings in advance.

Can dogs go on the beach?

Yes, with seasonal restrictions in summer. Mornings and evenings are ideal. Keep dogs leashed where required, clean up after them, and avoid marked shorebird nesting areas.
