Just down Dune Road, quieter local stretches like Pikes Beach are popular for surfing and long beach walks. They're an easy way to change the scenery without going far.
Worth the drive: the wider Hamptons and Montauk
If you want to explore, the beaches of Southampton, Bridgehampton, and East Hampton are a scenic drive east, and Montauk — with its lighthouse and surf culture — caps the South Fork about 45 to 90 minutes away. They make a fun day trip, but you'll likely be glad to come home to your own quiet sand.
